Rising Damp Repair Service

What is Rising Damp?

Rising Damp occurs in buildings when water from the ground rises up through the bricks and mortar of a building by capillary action, in the same way that a sponge will soak up water from the floor.

As water rises from the ground, it carries salts like nitrates, chloride, and sulphate through building materials. This can cause ‘efflorescence,’ a salt deposit often seen on concrete, brick, stucco, or stone surfaces. Walls usually show damp marks up to one metre high, depending on the property’s location.
